"The forward collision warning system emits a warning sound even when the car is in reverse. I was close enough to the door of my garage so that the forward warning was beeping. Since this always occurs when I back out of my driveway, I ignored the beeping. Unfortunately there was also something behind me and I backed into a low trash can. This could have been much more serious. The fact that the forward collision warning system stays active when backing up produces alarm fatigue and masks any warning from the reverse system."

"The contact owns a 2025 Toyota Camry equipped with Bridgestone Puranza EL440tires (Tire Size: 235/45R/18). While driving approximately 75 MPH, the rear driver's side tire suddenly, the Tire Sensor illuminated. The contact was attempting to get to the nearest exit to pull over, but before being able to do so, the tire blew. When the failure occurred, it caused the rear bumper to detach from the vehicle. The contact moved to the emergency lane, where they noticed the tire had disintegrated. The tire was replaced with a spare tire and driven to their home. The contact stated their niece, who was a passenger in the vehicle at the time, had suffered a panic attack, at the time which caused their nose to bleed and necessitated medical attention. The next day, the vehicle was taken to the dealer, who confirmed it was a known issue with the tires and the tire was replaced. The bumper was reattached. The manufacturer was not informed. The failure mileage was approximately 29,000."

"The radio/audio system has twice stopped working completely during travel--without warning--which is a safety issue since no emergency alerts can be received. The outage cannot be fixed by turning off the radio or any known practical intervention while the vehicle is moving. Audio reading of incoming text messages also fails. AM/FM/SiriusXM are all affected. Audio resumes at the next vehicle start-up. The vehicle is available for inspection. Safety is compromised since emergency alerts may be missed during these complete audio outages. Due to the randomness of the audio outages, independent confirmation has not been practical to date. No inspection by manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others has been requested or yet occurred. Other than the abrupt audio cut-off, no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure have been observed. Thank you."

"Upon shifting into reverse, the rearview camera system failed to provide a usable image, displaying only a solid white screen. This total loss of visibility occurred without warning and is a direct non-compliance with FMVSS 111. This failure mode is consistent with the Parking Assist ECU software errors currently being investigated and recalled under NHTSA 25V-744 for 2025 Toyota vehicles. The lack of a functioning rearview image directly resulted in a collision"

"In multiple instances, the windshield has cracked and spread so quickly that the windshield requirement a replacement for it to be safe to drive. 2 times the cracks appeared with the no indication as to what may have caused them, and the other 2 times I could hear a rock chip, but could not see the rock. Any repair attempts to the windshield have resulted in failure and required a replacement instead. The cracks spread nearly instantly after the initial crack. I have replaced this 3 times so far, totaling around $2500 dollars in repairs. With the most recent crack, it has spread 6 inches within 20 minutes of the initial crack, and will likely require replacement for the car to be safe to drive. There must be some sort of issue with the glass build quality or structural integrity. I have had 4 cracked windshields in less than two years."

"While pulling out of my driveway, I heard a loud popping sound. Immediately afterward, there was a burning plastic-type odor. At that time, there were no visible signs of damage, no warning lights on the dashboard, and the vehicle appeared to be operating normally. Later that day, while driving, I noticed a shimmering effect in the bottom right corner of the windshield that caught my attention. Upon closer inspection, I realized that the windshield had cracked. It appeared that the earlier popping sound was caused by the initial crack, which was now beginning to spread. I took the vehicle to the dealership that same afternoon to have the issue documented. The technician on duty inspected the windshield, along with a sales advisor and my original salesperson, who was present at the time. The following day, I returned to the dealership, where the service director examined the windshield and found no evidence of impact damage. I was then instructed to bring the vehicle back for evaluation by an official manufacturer representative. After a visual inspection by the Toyota rep, I was informed that the damage would not be covered under warranty. This was over a month after I initially reported the issue and the crack had spread much further by that point. The windshield appears to have broken spontaneously, yet the manufacturer has declined to repair or replace it under warranty coverage. The damage came from the interior portion of the glass which seems like a manufacturing defect."

"On March 2, 2026, the airbag warning light and seat belt warning light suddenly illuminated on my vehicle’s dashboard. This issue is extremely concerning, as it directly affects critical safety systems designed to protect occupants in the event of a crash. I immediately took the vehicle to an authorized Toyota dealership for inspection. However, the dealership refused to repair the issue under the manufacturer’s warranty, claiming that the problem was caused by “physical damage.” I strongly dispute this claim, as no accident, impact, or misuse occurred that could justify such damage. As a result, I was pressured into paying for the repair out of pocket, despite this being a brand-new vehicle and a clear safety-related malfunction. I also contacted Toyota Motor North America to escalate the issue. Unfortunately, they declined to provide assistance or override the dealership’s decision, leaving me without proper support. I believe this situation raises serious safety concerns that may affect not only my vehicle but potentially other vehicles of the same model. A malfunction involving the airbag and seat belt systems could significantly increase the risk of injury or death in the event of an accident. For this reason, I respectfully request that the NHTSA: •Investigate this issue for potential defects in the 2025 Toyota Camry •Determine whether a recall or further safety action is necessary •Review the manufacturer’s and dealership’s handling of this safety concern That dealership was Hudson Toyota service centre which is located in jersey city New Jersey ,07305. I am submitting this complaint in the interest of public safety and to prevent potential harm to other drivers. Thank you for your attention to this serious matter."

The contact stated that upon purchasing and picking up the vehicle from the auction dealer, the contact scanned the vehicle with an OBD reader to clear the check engine warning lights, and the odometer reading changed from 6,000 to 54,000 miles. The contact discovered the mileage discrepancy while the vehicle was still at the auction lot. The dealer was notified, but no assistance was provided. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 6,000, but it was later discovered that the mileage was 54,000 upon scanning the vehicle.    "

Why is Toyota allowed to continue selling vehicles that they have known to have this issue since 2023? The car is not safe to drive at all. I didn’t spend 40k for a paper weight. "The hybrid propulsion system in my Toyota Camry Hybrid malfunctioned. The vehicle displayed multiple warning messages, including “Hybrid System Malfunction” and other system failure alerts. The accelerator pedal stopped responding, and the vehicle lost propulsion while driving at highway speed. The vehicle would not restart after coming to a stop. The vehicle has been towed and is available for inspection upon request. The vehicle lost power while I was traveling at highway speed during severe weather conditions (tornado and thunderstorm warnings). The car began rattling and shaking, then the accelerator stopped responding, and the vehicle gradually decelerated despite pressing the gas pedal. I was forced to activate hazard lights and maneuver to the shoulder. Multiple large trucks were traveling at high speed and did not immediately move over, coming dangerously close to striking my disabled vehicle. Because of the severe weather and approaching storm conditions, I was stranded on the highway in a vulnerable position. The sudden loss of propulsion created a significant risk of a high-speed rear-end collision. The vehicle was towed after the incident. It has not yet been confirmed whether the dealer has reproduced the failure. The malfunction occurred suddenly while driving and has not been intentionally reproduced by me. The vehicle would not restart at the time of the incident. The vehicle was towed following the incident. It has not yet been inspected by police or insurance representatives. Inspection by a Toyota dealer/manufacturer representative is pending (or currently in progress, if applicable). Approx. 15 minutes before reaching my destination, the vehicle began rattling and shaking unexpectedly while driving at highway speed. Shortly after, the rattling stopped, but the accelerator pedal stopped responding and the vehicle began decelerating. Multiple warning messages then appeared, including “Hybrid System Malfunction” and other system failure."

"I am reporting new issues with my 2025 Toyota Camry that started immediately after the dealer completed the rear-camera recall service. 1. Right-Side Wheel Housing / Suspension Problem Since the recall, the right side of the car makes a loud noise whenever I drive over small bumps or uneven roads. It may be related to the shock absorber possibly leaking fluid, but the exact cause is UNKNOWN. •The part is available for inspection. •This raises a safety concern because it affects stability and may indicate a failing suspension component. •No warning lights appeared. 2. Infotainment Screen Glitch / Electrical Issue After the recall work, the infotainment screen began glitching every time I start the vehicle, and while driving it sometimes shows a large red line across the entire screen. •The issue happens randomly but consistently. •It is distracting and may indicate an electrical or software malfunction caused during the recall repair. •No warning messages appeared before the screen failure. 3. Inspection Status The vehicle has NOT yet been inspected for these new issues by Toyota or any third party. The problems did not exist before the recall and began immediately afterward, although the exact cause is UNKNOWN. I request a full investigation and inspection for safety concerns."

"2025 Camry front bumper popping out underneath driver side headlamp. It is a known issue by Toyota though they won't acknowledge it. It is widely considered a warranty issue, though some owners face resistance from dealers. Temporary fixes include re-aligning clips, while permanent solutions often require bracket replacements or professional body shop intervention. 2 dealerships have looked at it. One referred me to a body shop and the other said it would involve me replacing the headlamp. Clip is still intact, but it won't grab onto the tab under headlamp."

"On 1/14/26 a parking cone blew into my lane on the freeway and hit my passenger side bumper. I filed an insurance claim for the damage and took it to a Progressive preferred shop, Color Magic CARSTAR Collision. Carstar replaced the grille, bumper cover and all affected components such as the retainers, moulding, impact absorber, etc. with OEM parts. After 60 days of allowing the new bumper's black paint to cure, I went to get the bumper rewrapped with the mint green wrap that was put on the car by the dealership before I purchased it. At that time, the wrap company noticed that there was a gap in the bumper under the passenger side headlight and that the bumper could be popped back into place, but easily popped back out. It was not noticeable to me while the bumper was black, but once they put the mint green wrap on, it was extremely noticeable. I have went back to Carstar multiple times for them to make adjustments to fix the problem. My insurance adjustor has inspected it multiple times and referred me to Germain Certified Toyota Collision Center to assist after he found online forums and was told by Direct Collison center (also Toyota Certified) staff that it was a known issue with the OEM bumpers and that there was no fix for it. All have confirmed and been able to reproduce the issue. The adjustor says it is a manufacturing warranty issue ane neither Certified Toyota Collision Centers we talked to were willing to help or take responsibility for it. Germain said it is how the car is meant to handle impact and that scrapes on driveways or minor bumps/potholes can cause it to pop out of place. It is a safety issue because it could continue to get worse and pop out or fall off while I am driving. It also affects the front sensor which affects a multitude of safety features as well as lane assist, which I cannot turn off. I am worried that the sensor will fail and cause me to get in an accident if it jerks my wheel wrong."

The vehicle was inspected by the Toyota Dealership I purchased it from and they replicated and confirmed this defect on 1-03-2026. A defective or malfunctioning axle seal can wear out over time, which can cause it to leak. If there is significant fluid loss it could lead to failure of the transmission while driving which could lead to an accident. There were no warning messages, only the symptom of the squeaking noise. "While driving, the vehicle experienced an unintended side airbag deployment without any collision or impact. At the same time, the seatbelt locked, the vehicle came to a sudden stop, and a hybrid system malfunction warning appeared. The vehicle immediately became undrivable and was towed. The vehicle remains available for inspection and is currently under the manufacturer’s control. This sudden failure created a serious safety risk due to the unexpected airbag deployment and loss of vehicle control while driving. As a result of the incident, I sustained physical injuries and sought medical attention. The vehicle has been inspected by the manufacturer. The manufacturer has stated they are unable to confirm whether the vehicle is safe to operate and the investigation remains ongoing. No warning lights or messages appeared prior to the failure. "My 2025 Toyota Camry XSE (Hybrid) is subject to an open safety recall issued December 16, 2025. The recall involves a serious safety risk, and I was advised by the dealership not to drive the vehicle. At the time of the recall, the vehicle was approximately two months old with about 1,500 miles and in like-new condition. Because there is currently no available remedy, I was required to leave the vehicle stored at the dealership. I have been without use of my own vehicle since January 6, 2026 and am using a loaner vehicle solely due to the safety recall, not by choice. Toyota has stated a fix may not be available until at least Q1 2026, with no defined repair timeline, and customers are being told to wait without interim mitigation. I am concerned about the inability to safely operate my vehicle and the long-term impact of extended storage on a nearly new hybrid vehicle, including hybrid battery health, fuel and fluid systems, seals, tires, and interior and exterior materials. Prior to the recall, the vehicle was routinely garaged and properly maintained, and extended outdoor storage due to the recall introduces risk of premature wear unrelated to normal ownership use. While the dealership has indicated the vehicle may be started periodically, this does not replace normal driving and ownership use. In addition to loss of use, I am required to maintain a $300 monthly loaner vehicle deposit while my vehicle remains unusable due to the recall. Toyota Customer Service has stated they cannot escalate or provide assistance and are instructed to close cases without resolution, creating ongoing financial burden through no fault of my own. Toyota has acknowledged similar recalls on other models lasting extended periods, yet no interim remedy, mitigation plan, or customer relief is offered here. I believe this raises concerns regarding recall remedy timeliness, consumer safety, and loss of use."

"Left Headlight Issue - Roadway Shadows This report is based on multiple observations of the car's owner while driving a Toyota Camry hybrid 2025 at night time . At issue is that the left side LED headlight projects fixed black shadows onto to roadway, partially obscuring the driver's view of the roadway while driving. On 2 dealer visits, the dealer found the left headlight misaligned, and reported making adjustments to the left headlight. Despite these adjustments, the car owner continues to observe persistent roadway shadows from the left headlight while driving at night - based on car owner photographs of these projected black shadows, most recent photos on December 5-16, 2025 ( see attached). On a 3rd visit to the dealer in December 2025, the dealer was provided with the owners photographs. Yet, the dealer restated its position that the Toyota Camry hybrid's left LED headlight is normal, even though this left headlight has required 2 adjustments and roadway shadows persist. Unknown whether or not the headlight has/had a defect issue. In fact, the car owner's multiple photographs document and show fixed black shadows projected on the left roadway in front of the car, emanating from the Toyota Camry's left LED headlight."

"I am reporting an issue with the driver seat in my 2025 Toyota Camry. The seat exhibits abnormal movement, shifting, instability, and popping sensations in the seatback area during normal driving conditions. The issue feels like looseness or movement of internal seat components and creates a distraction and potential safety concern while operating the vehicle. I brought the vehicle to a Toyota dealership for inspection. The dealership acknowledged the issue and opened a TAS (Technical Assistance System) case with Toyota Motor Corporation. An attempted repair and inspection were performed; however, the issue still persists. After researching online owner forums and discussions, I found multiple reports from other Toyota Camry owners describing similar driver seat problems, suggesting this may not be an isolated incident. The ongoing seat movement negatively affects driver confidence and comfort and may create a safety risk by distracting the driver or altering seating position while driving."

"1.The driver-side bumper/bumper cover and/or bumper attachment clips, brackets, or mounting points failed or malfunctioned. The bumper was protruding on the driver’s side and was not staying properly secured to the vehicle. Repairs have already been completed by an independent auto body shop. I have repair documentation, photos, and/or invoices available to support the complaint. 2.My safety and the safety of others were put at risk because the bumper was protruding and not properly secured on the driver’s side. I was concerned that the bumper could become further detached while driving, especially at highway speeds, creating a road hazard for other drivers or pedestrians. The protruding bumper could also affect the vehicle’s exterior safety structure, cause distraction while driving, or worsen if the vehicle hit a bump, pothole, or experienced normal road vibration. 3.Yes. The problem was confirmed by an independent auto body shop. They inspected the bumper issue and repaired it. I was also advised by the shop that they have seen similar issues with Toyota bumpers and that this appears to be a common problem. The repair cost was approximately $1,000 out of pocket. 4. The vehicle/component was inspected by an independent auto body shop. To my knowledge, it has not yet been inspected by Toyota, police, or insurance representatives. I am filing this complaint so the issue can be documented and reviewed as a possible safety or manufacturing-related concern. 5.There were no warning lamps or dashboard messages related to this issue. The main symptom was visible: the bumper began protruding on the driver’s side and was not staying properly attached. I first noticed the issue on or around June 10, 2025. The condition appeared to worsen or remain unresolved until I had it repaired by an independent auto body shop. I am filing this complaint regarding a bumper issue on my Toyota vehicle. The driver-side bumper/bumper cover began protruding and was not staying properly"

"The contact owns a 2025 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that the paint on the vehicle was damaged during production. When the vehicle was transported, the contact noticed that the paint had spots. The dealer was unable to repair the vehicle since the damage occurred during production. The dealer replaced the vehicle with another 2025 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that when the vehicle had the windows tinted, the employee noticed that the front bumper was loose and was pushed back into place. However, the failure persisted. The bumper was pushed back into place several times, but the failure recurred, and the contact was informed that the mounting tabs in the bumper were weak. The driver’s side brackets and the bumper were replaced; however, the failure persisted. The contact stated that the front bumper was not aligned and was still loose. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, and the contact was informed that no other fix was available. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact that a case manager would be sent to inspect the vehicle. The case manager found a tear in the rubber and filed a Lemon Law case on behalf of the contact. The contact was informed that the Lemon Law case was denied and closed. The contact stated that the failure persisted, and the front bumper looked misaligned. The failure mileage was approximately 6."

"I am reporting a recurring safety defect involving the front bumper assembly on my brand-new Toyota Camry Hybrid. The front bumper repeatedly detaches, separates, and pulls away from the vehicle during normal driving conditions. This has occurred multiple times despite repeated repair attempts by the authorized Toyota dealership. Toyota and the dealership have acknowledged that this is a known issue affecting other vehicles and have admitted that there is currently no permanent repair remedy available. Despite this, the defect has been misclassified as “cosmetic,” which is inaccurate and unsafe. The bumper is a critical safety component designed to absorb and distribute crash forces. A bumper that is already detached or partially unsecured compromises crash force pathways and reduces occupant protection in the event of a collision. If an accident occurs, the bumper cannot perform its intended safety function, increasing the risk of injury. Additionally, I can hear air intrusion entering the vehicle through the front area where the bumper is separating, confirming that the vehicle’s exterior seal and structural integrity are compromised while driving. This vehicle has never been in an accident and is operated under normal conditions. A front bumper should not detach on a new vehicle. This is not a cosmetic concern it is a safety defect that places occupants at risk. I am requesting that NHTSA review this issue as a potential pattern defect and require Toyota to address it as a safety matter rather than mislabeling it to avoid corrective action."

"The driver’s seat backrest (lumbar support area) constantly pops and shifts (makes physical movement) while accelerating, braking, going over bumps, and when making body adjustments. I have already visited the Toyota dealership five times for this defect, but Toyota has been unable to fix the issue. The Toyota dealer first replaced the lumbar support, and subsequent attempts involved temporary measures such as installing foam and felt tape, but the defect still persists. A Toyota dealer technician mentioned that the “seat lumbar is shifting around on the metal support rail.” The popping and shifting sensation has gotten worse since last year. This is very distracting and has nearly caused an accident when felt during braking. As seen on many online forums, a lot of 2025 Camry owners (the first redesign year) are experiencing this issue, but Toyota is trying to sweep it under the rug by claiming this is a normal vehicle characteristic instead of releasing an updated or redesigned lumbar support. A driver’s seat that physically shifts and pops while driving is a safety issue."
