"Rear right coil spring violently detached and flew across my garage. Fortunately we were not driving it on the Florida Turnpike at the time and none of my family was in the garage when it explosively ejected. We took it to the dealership, Napleton’s Jeep, on February 23, 2026 for its annual service and explicitly directed them to repair or correct any recalls. They said they could not perform the coil spring repair because “Parts Not Available” but assured us it had been inspected and was determined to not be defective or a risk. This is VERY disturbing because it could have killed us if we had been driving at the time and could have seriously injured or killed someone if it had exploded free when people were nearby (ex: in the garage, grocery store parking lot, club parking lot, etc.). There are no warning lamps to even advise that something has occurred - other than finding the enormous spring that put a giant dent in my garage door. I have multiple major work matters, an 8 figure mediation and two court hearings, which require me to drive to Fort Lauderdale this week so I had to spend $50 on an Uber to get a rental car last night and $210 on the rental car."

"Loss of propulsion while driving Yes it is available for inspection upon request Complete and total loss of propulsion/acceleration when pressing on gas pedal while driving and going into a left turn across oncoming traffic; driver and five year old passenger in the vehicle at the time of incident. Safely maneuvered the vehicle to the side of the roadway. Dealership has not been able to recreate the problem. Vehicle has been at dealership service department since May 14, 2026, immediately after incident. Vehicle was able to be driven to dealership after incident. Incident reported to Stellantis May 28, 2026. Stated that the report would be escalated and I would be contacted via email in 1-2 business days. No direct manufacturer inspection at this time, and police/insurance company were not contacted as there was no accident to report. Safety recall 73C in regard to this matter was completed September 26, 2025 according to Stellantis customer service and recall information available for the VIN of this vehicle. No warning lights/messages/symptoms of the problem prior to incident. During incident and after loss of propulsion started, "D" started flashing on the dash console and the gear shift knob, and I was unable to shift out of drive. After approximately 5 minutes, the vehicle put itself in park and engaged the emergency brake. Video of part of the incident available upon request"

"I am reporting a systemic safety failure involving a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee sold as a "Certified Pre-Owned" (CPO) vehicle. Despite the mandatory 125-point CPO safety inspection, the vehicle was delivered with multiple safety-critical defects that should have prevented certification. Primary Safety Risks: Suspension/Stability: The vehicle exhibits vibration and instability at all speeds, resulting in a loss of steering stability and difficulty maintaining lane position at highway speed. Tire Integrity: The vehicle was sold with dry-rotted tires, indicating structural degradation that poses a high risk of catastrophic failure/blowout. Electrical/Powertrain: The Auto Start/Stop system is faulty. Additionally, the paddle shifters are non-functional, which interferes with manual gear selection and driver control over the powertrain. The selling dealership has refused to acknowledge these defects or bring the vehicle into compliance with manufacturer safety standards. Furthermore, Stellantis Corporate has failed to provide a safety compliance review. These mechanical and electrical defects existed at the time of sale and represent a failure of the CPO safety process."

"I was driving on the highway when all of a sudden my gas pedal stopped propelling the car and the engine seemed to be off. I looked at the dash board and saw that the car was indicating it was off and that I needed to step on the brake and hit the ignition button to turn it back on. I barely had control of the car but was able to pull off to the side of the road. I then had to wait several minutes for the car to respond and turn back on. This has happened in the past to me with this car but this is the first time I knew I could report it here. This is a terrible vehicle and I’ve had nothing but safety issues with it since I leased it."

"High Voltage Battery (hybrid battery) has excessive drain when parked. This was noticed after completing the 68C recall. In any temperature it drains 8-12% over 12 hours. I noticed it happening when it was 65-75 degrees, so not hot and not cold. I brought it in for a repair once, it spent 3 weeks at the dealership and was claimed fixed but it's still doing it. It is known problem on the forums as well after the 68C recall. No warning lights."

"Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing to report serious safety concerns regarding my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee, VIN [XXX] , which still has 11 months remaining on the lease. During the two years of this lease, the vehicle has had several recalls and repeated mechanical problems every 2–3 months, including a recent transmission replacement. The vehicle is currently affected by Recall 68C. I have maintained the vehicle responsibly and completed oil changes on time. Recently, while driving on the freeway, the dashboard began flashing red warnings and the vehicle lost power, forcing me to slow down in traffic. With help from Highway Service Patrol, I managed to move the car off the freeway. The vehicle would not restart properly and required several attempts before it began working again. I scheduled an appointment with the dealership for the recall repair and oil change. However, after one of the case managers informed me that my vehicle appeared eligible for the Buy Back program, my recall repair appointment was canceled. Later, my case was reviewed by Mrs. Khushbu (Customer Retention Specialist), who informed me that the vehicle was not eligible for buyback and closed my case (#[XXX]) without clearly explaining the reason. As a single working mother, I depend on reliable transportation. I now experience anxiety every time I drive this vehicle due to safety concerns. Two days ago, the same issue occurred again on the freeway — the dashboard flashed red, the gas pedal became unresponsive, and the vehicle stopped, taking 20–30 minutes to restart. Because of these repeated failures and safety risks, I no longer feel safe driving this vehicle. I respectfully request that Stellantis/Jeep review this matter and provide a fair resolution. I am not interested in replacing this vehicle with another Jeep, as I have lost confidence in this model. Given the circumstances, this situation may fall Thank you for your attention. I look forward to your response. Sincerely INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)"

"On February 28, 2026, while preparing to leave our home with our two children in the vehicle, we experienced a critical vehicle malfunction. Upon attempting to start the car, all dashboard warning lights illuminated, including transmission error, “service needed,” and “automatic emergency braking system needs service.” The battery warning light was also on. The vehicle would not start initially. After eventually starting the car, we temporarily placed it in neutral and pushed it out of the garage, during which the brakes functioned normally. The vehicle was briefly driven and appeared operational, but due to ongoing safety concerns and multiple recalls, we parked it at the top of our driveway. On the following day, the vehicle would not start again. We arranged for it to be towed to the dealership. On March 2, 2026, when the tow truck arrived, the car’s position prevented loading onto the truck. Multiple jump-start attempts failed initially, then briefly started the vehicle, but it immediately shut off again. We placed the vehicle in neutral using the manual override and tested the brakes, which initially showed stiffness but were operational. While attempting to move the vehicle to allow tow truck access, the brakes suddenly failed. Despite pressing the brake pedal fully and brake lights being illuminated, the vehicle did not stop and rolled uncontrollably into our garage. Consequences: •Garage property damage: approximately $11,000 •Personal injury: my father-in-law fell while the vehicle rolled out of control •Vehicle remains at dealership with an open case, but the situation remains unresolved Safety Concern: This incident raises serious safety concerns regarding the reliability of the braking system and vehicle electronics. The vehicle became uncontrollable while brakes were applied, posing a direct risk of injury or death to occupants and others. We fear that similar failures could occur under normal driving conditions, including highway speeds."

"Since I first leased my vehicle in May of 2023, I have received over 7 safety recalls. At least 2 of which are related to the main battery of the hybrid power system. Ever since I got the first one, I was recommended to park my car outside my house for risk of fire while parked. The latest recall, which has not been resolved involved the battery again and after taking the car to the dealer, the battery did not pass the test and the dealer requested I leave the car with them and advised this will take about a month to correct if they can correct it at all."

The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where the manufacturer's investigation unit inspected the vehicle and determined that the failure was related to the battery. The contact was informed that the battery failure was covered under warranty, which was extended. The insurance company was notified of the failure, but informed the contact that the battery was not covered by the policy. The contact stated that the vehicle experienced a loss of drive power four to six months before the failure, which she related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V576000 (Electrical System). The manufacturer was informed of the failure, and two cases were filed. The manufacturer issued a letter instructing the dealer to repair the vehicle. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 47,000."

"Since shortly after taking delivery of my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe, I have repeatedly experienced intermittent safety-related malfunctions involving sudden steering stiffness and braking intervention. From early in ownership, the vehicle would unexpectedly engage what I later learned is the Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) system. During these events, the steering would feel locked or restricted and the brakes would apply without driver input. In order to restore normal operation, I was required to pull over, turn the vehicle off, and restart it. These concerns were reported multiple times to the dealership over the course of ownership. On January 13, 2026, while traveling at approximately 60 mph on the highway in normal traffic conditions, the vehicle suddenly lost propulsion without warning. At that time, the instrument cluster displayed a “HYBRID / ELECTRIC MODE UNAVAILABLE” message along with a wrench indicator light. The vehicle immediately began losing power and was unable to maintain highway speed. As the vehicle slowed unexpectedly in active traffic, two tractor-trailers were approaching from behind. The sudden loss of propulsion created an immediate risk of a rear-end collision. The driver was forced to maneuver across lanes while the vehicle was losing power in order to reach the shoulder safely. The loss of propulsion and warning messages occurred simultaneously. The vehicle was towed to the authorized dealership, where it remains. The dealership has indicated they have been unable to duplicate the failure. These recurring electrical, braking, steering, and hybrid propulsion malfunctions present serious safety concerns, particularly when occurring at highway speeds or in traffic. Due to severe weather conditions, the vehicle was not towed until January 29, 2026. The vehicle was removed from service following the incident and subsequently transported to the authorized dealership, where it remains."

"On December 17, 2025, I brought my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe (30th Anniversary Edition) to Los Angeles Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram for safety recall 68C involving the high-voltage (HV) battery. The dealer performed the required recall software update/flash and diagnostic and confirmed the vehicle failed 68C, meaning the HV traction battery pack requires replacement. The vehicle remains at the dealer and is available for inspection. I cannot take the vehicle home even if I tried: per the recall process it must remain at the dealer once it fails, and the software flash/diagnostic effectively “bricked” the vehicle, rendering it undriveable until the HV battery is replaced. This defect involves the HV battery, a critical energy-storage component with serious safety implications. The problem has been confirmed by an authorized dealer; no police/insurance inspection. The dealer initially stated the battery would arrive around January 12, 2026, but it did not. At ~4 weeks out of service I called the dealer for an update—no ETA, status, or tracking. The dealer has never proactively contacted me. At ~8 weeks I called Jeep Cares—no ETA, tracking, or meaningful update; they only contacted the dealer. I am still making payments on a vehicle immobilized at the dealer for ~9 weeks due to the recall remedy delay. I also did not receive the $100 recall compensation gift cards and Jeep Cares has not resolved that. I am filing this complaint because the recall remedy is not being provided within a reasonable time, leaving me without transportation and without any timeline for a critical safety-recall repair."

"I am submitting this complaint regarding a Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe that has been subject to multiple safety recalls involving the high-voltage battery system and a risk of fire or explosion. The manufacturer, Stellantis, issued safety instructions advising owners not to charge the vehicle and not to park the vehicle in garages or near structures or other vehicles due to the potential fire risk. It says "Sand from the casting process can contaminate internal engine components, leading to a catastrophic engine failure, which can result in a vehicle fire or an unexpected and unrecoverable loss of propulsion. These instructions significantly restricted the normal use of the vehicle and created serious safety concerns. I have young kids Additionally, the recall notice stated that a remedy for the defect was not available for an extended period of time. Despite the seriousness of the defect and the safety warnings issued, the vehicle remained without a repair solution for months.Jeep has now discontinued the vehicles altogether with no solution for the vehicle. Due to these conditions, the vehicle could not be safely operated or used for its intended purpose. The unresolved safety defect effectively rendered the vehicle unsafe and unusable. I am requesting that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration review this matter and the impact that these unresolved safety defects have had on vehicle owners. I believe the situation raises significant safety concerns regarding vehicles that remain in use while a dangerous defect exists without an available remedy. Please let me know if additional documentation is required. I am willing to provide recall notices, written manufacturer communications, and other supporting documentation. "I am filing a formal safety complaint regarding my hybrid Jeep vehicle due to ongoing and unresolved safety issues that present a significant risk to myself and others. Since the beginning of ownership, I have experienced repeated and escalating problems with the vehicle, including: * Hybrid system malfunction warnings and persistent red wrench indicator * Aggressive and unsafe gear shifting while driving * Vehicle stalling unexpectedly * Vehicle intermittently failing to turn on or shut off properly In addition to these critical concerns, my vehicle has been under Recall 68C since October 2025. To date, there has been no available remedy provided. I have been explicitly instructed not to park the vehicle in a garage or near structures and to avoid charging the vehicle due to an increased risk of fire. This situation has created significant hardship and safety concerns. I am unable to safely use or store my vehicle as intended. I have also been informed that potential fire damage related to this issue may not be covered by homeowners insurance, further increasing the risk and liability I am being forced to assume. Despite repeated attempts to address these issues through proper channels, including dealership service visits and manufacturer communication, no resolution has been provided. This vehicle poses a clear safety hazard due to: * Risk of fire associated with the hybrid battery system * Unpredictable stalling and drivetrain behavior while in operation * Lack of manufacturer remedy for an active safety recall I am requesting immediate investigation, accountability, and corrective action to ensure the safety of consumers affected by this issue"
