"Transmission randomly hard down shifts erratically. It feels like i lose control of the vehicle. Shifting is so violent, it's like I were driving over a man hole with a missing cover. These are under normal operating conditions. Not towing, not hard braking. Not extreme cold or hot climate. There are no warning laps on the dash board. This issue has been reviewed at 2 different FORD dealer / repair shops. The first location changed the transmission fluid. The second one changed the transmission torque converter. Documentation can be provided. There is no computer data that indicated an issue when hooked up to the Ford mechanic computer diagnostic tool. The problem continues to happen after repair. The vehicle is still under FORD warranty. 2 Ford mechanics have test driven the vehicle after repair. They recognize the problem, and provide no remedy other than what has already been done. This vehicle feels unsafe to drive."

"Receiving Front Camera Malfunction Service required warning. Also receiving pre-collision assist, adaptive cruise control and automatic emergency break system warnings. Other systems likely disabled. Found that there was a TSB issued for the same year but on the F-150. DTC's C1001:31, U3000:89, U3000:49. This issue is likely caused by faulty cable connections where condensation has caused corrosion making the system inoperable thus creating a major safety issue for owners. I took the Expedition to SawGrass Ford in Sunrise FL and they confirmed that the issue was due to the electronics/cables. The camera itself was not dirty or blocked. They charged me $250 for a diagnostic and then wanted to charge me $2500+. For the safety and security of all owners please investigate and hold FORD accountable for this."

"Transmission has known issue by Ford Motor Company concerning defective components leading to wear and improper function causing potential safety issues with acceleration and deceleration. My vehicle, I purchased used with 32k miles in April of 2025. I started to have issues with shifting approximately 6 months ago when it would shift erratically when cold and when vehicle was not warmed up. On several occasions the vehicle, when shifted into reverse to back out of a parking space, the vehicle hesitates and drops harshly into reverse. This has occurred at least 4 times within the last 3 months. The next issue is when the vehicle is initially started up in the morning and placed into gear to leave my driveway I pull out and it appears to be operating fine. When the transmission goes to upshift it will shift on the gauge screen indicating it is in 3rd gear but either I have no gear and the engine will rev without acceleration, or as in the last circumstance, it will shift to 3rd, jump to 8th gear, and have no accelerator input for approximately 5-10 seconds. The shift indicator shows the transmission then shifts from 8th, to 5th, then down to 3rd and drops harshly into gear and proceeds operation as normal. The transmission will not shift as smoothly as it does when it is warm for approximately 3-5 miles. This type of operation has been identified as being contributed to the interior components of the 10R80 transmission. In particular, the CDF clutch is identified in the TSB for this issue 23-2250. I have had my vehicle at the Ford dealer on 2 occasions for this issue and they have not been able to replicate the issue. I was advised the 2nd time that the service technician stated the transmission was low 2 quarts of fluid and they were unable to get the transmission to replicate the harsh shifting condition. This vehicle was serviced less than 2 months prior and no indication of low fluid was noted in the transmission at the time of service."

"I have a 2022 Ford Expedition that Ford states some of these are under recall for the backup camera but not mine. On 10/28/25, my backup camera went out with a blank blue sometimes black screen. I took it to Marler Ford where they gave me an estimate of $1000 to replace the camera. I received an oil change on the same day. When I got home I noticed from the diagnostics that my camera was loose in its setting and was able to easily remove it. I am assuming this occurred while at the dealership and will address this with them. While I contemplated what to do, I noticed a change 1 week ago when i backed up even though the camera was removed. It showed the back up lines and no longer the blank screen. I placed the camera back in and now it is working but is still loose so I removed it so it doesn’t fall out. I called Ford. My case number is CXH-XXX. In summary, Ford is still not owning up to the recalls that are a major safety issue in these vehicles and need to be held accountable. I am not confident that this issue will not return if the issue is not fixed. It has caused me stress in not allowing me to be as confident in reverse. It has not resulted in a accident at this time. "When slowing down to turn into a parking lot my car suddenly experienced sudden “phantom braking”. I was going slowly and I wasn’t braking. My car only has automatic braking when cruise control is on. Cruise wasn’t on. The car suddenly braked hard and chimed twice. My car has a collision warning system but that doesn’t chime like this. I didn’t see any dash warning lights, it looked normal by the time I looked for warning lights. I coasted into the parking lot because I wasn’t even sure if the engine was running. I couldn’t find anything wrong and everything has seemed normal since then. When it braked, I had my foot above the brake pedal because I was getting ready to brake further as I turned. When the phantom braking happened I felt the pedal move. It suddenly depressed then and sprung back up. I believe I was going less than 20mph."

"Recently, the rear evaporator core failed, causing a refrigerant leak that disabled the entire A/C system. This left both the front and rear HVAC units inoperable, which not only compromises passenger comfort but also directly impacts safety by reducing the system’s ability to defrost and dehumidify the windshield in hot and humid conditions. After researching this issue, I have confirmed that rear evaporator core failures are being reported by numerous 2021–2023 Expedition owners, many of whom describe identical failures at relatively low mileage. These failures often result in costly repairs ranging from $2,000–$3,500. While Ford has issued Technical Service Bulletins (e.g., TSB 22-2089) related to evaporator and sensor issues on Expeditions, there is currently no recall or extended coverage program for rear evaporator core failures. However, the pattern of owner complaints, dealer diagnoses, and additional NHTSA filings shows that this is a known defect affecting a critical vehicle system. Given: •The premature and widespread nature of these failures, •The documented safety concerns raised in NHTSA complaints, and •The high financial burden placed on customers for what appears to be a design defect, I contacted my local dealer who filed a claim with Ford customer support. My claim was immediately denied and they did not offer any financial support. The year of the vehicle was within 3yr/36,000 warranty however current mileage is ~44,000 and exceeded threshold for warranty assistance."

"The vehicle stopped running while driving, my wife stopped at a stop sign after vehicle had run ~ 10 minutes. Upon entering the inter-section the vehicle started to run rough, and ultimately stalled and would not restart. She was able to coast into a parking lot entrance within On Top of World subdivision where we live and get off of main road. After multiple AAA attempts to jump start, AAA confirmed the vehicle was unable to be jump started, therefore vehicle was towed to local ford dealership for diagnostics. They tried to jump start multiple times and after 2 days, pushed it into garage. They confirmed fuel pump failure and replaced with current design. We were charged for towing, new battery, and fuel pump system replacement with current design and advised we would have to bring it back in when Ford identified remedy for current recall. No loaner vehicle provided. We are very concerned as if this event had occurred on an interstate, there is a high risk of accident/injury. After repair with existing part designs we are worried about another failure on busy road/interstate."

"1) The fuel delivery system is affected — specifically, a faulty fuel pump which may fail and cause engine stalling while driving. This issue is under Ford Safety Recall 25S75 (NHTSA 25V-455). The vehicle is still in my possession and available for inspection upon request. 2) The recall clearly states that the vehicle can stall unexpectedly while driving, increasing the risk of a crash. On a recent highway trip ([XXX]), my Expedition began shaking at high speeds, and continued shaking while parked, indicating worsening fuel system issues. I have three young children (ages [XXX] , [XXX] , and [XXX] ) who regularly ride in the vehicle. Being told to continue driving under these conditions with no available fix has placed my entire family and others on the road at risk. 3) Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Not yet. When I called Ford customer service to report the issue and request a safe alternative, I was told there was no further action available and that I should continue driving the vehicle. I was referred to my local Ford dealership, who also said they could not take any action until a remedy is issued. 4) Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No. Because Ford has no remedy available, they have not performed any inspection or offered assistance. The dealership confirmed they cannot inspect or service the vehicle related to this recall until Ford issues a fix. 5) Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? There were no warning lights or error messages, during a return trip from Texas [XXX] the vehicle began shaking noticeably at highway speeds, and continued shaking heavily while in park. These symptoms had never occurred before, and they align with the type of failure described in the recall notice. "I am submitting a formal consumer complaint regarding a persistent brake issue—specifically a loud squeal when coming to a stop in a 2022 Ford Expedition Max Limited purchased as a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle through Ford’s Blue Advantage Program. At the time of sale, I was assured the vehicle met certification standards, had no unresolved safety concerns, and that any recalls had been addressed. However, I later learned that Safety Recall 25S47 (NHTSA Campaign 25V-314) had been issued in May 2025—one month prior to purchase—for a front brake line defect that may cause brake fluid leaks, reduced braking performance, and increased crash risk. Despite this, the vehicle was certified and sold with representation that the recall showed “no concern.” Since purchase, the vehicle has exhibited constant brake squealing, worsening stopping performance, and reduced responsiveness. The issue occurs at every stop and persists despite replacement of front and rear brake pads and rotors. Timeline: • Apr 2024 – Prior brake-related service • May 9, 2025 – Recall issued • June 4, 2025 – Brake service prior to sale • June 14, 2025 – Purchased as certified • Within 1 week – Issue reported • June 25, 2025 – Inspection found “no concern” • July 2025 – Pads/rotors replaced • Within 2–3 months – Issue returned • Ongoing – Condition deemed “within guidelines” Multiple attempts to resolve this through the dealer, a consumer complaint organization, a state regulatory complaint, and a manufacturer repair case have not resulted in a fix. This raises concern that a vehicle with a known safety-related defect was certified and sold without proper resolution. I request investigation into whether certification standards were properly followed and whether consumer protection requirements were violated. I am seeking a permanent manufacturer-backed repair, repurchase, or other appropriate relief."

"On Nov 22 I pulled over to the shoulder of a highway in the midst of a snowstorm to make a phone call. When I went to get back onto the highway, my vehicle lost all brakes...the brake pedal hit the floor...and I had a low-speed impact with a berm rising up to a driveway that intersected the shoulder. The vehicle had to be towed to a nearby dealer. The only mechanism to stop it on/off the tow truck was slamming transmission into park. Due to the storm, I had to spend the night in the vehicle in the freezing cold at the tow destination. The cause of the brake failure was determined to be a material defect of a rubber section of brake line deep in the engine compartment that burst, causing a loss of all brake fluid. It was repaired under warranty. I had just received the vehicle back from repairing the body damage to the bumper when the Ford brake line recall was issued. I believed that my incident in Nov was the result of the issue that resulted in the recall, and that surely the warranty repair would have thus resolved all related issues. That was not the case. When I brought the vehicle to Koons Ford Woodbridge four routine service, they found that it failed the brake line recall test and that the vehicle was unsafe to drive. However, they are not actively repairing it. In fact, the parts needed to repair don't exist. I'm told it will be 2-3 months before a part is even available. And they have failed to provide an any vehicle that can safely transport my family of 7. I therefore believe that Ford have *failed to comply* with the NHTSA regulation that obligates them to repair the vechicle. They're not repairing it. So I am therefore left to demand that they select another option available under recall regulations, preferably a full refund of the purchase amount. At a minimum, this incident refutes Ford's published claims that there have been no collisions associated with the brake line defect that resulted in the recall."

"A-pillar/hinge integrity engineering concern. While opening my door in a parking lot, the wind caught the door before I could catch the door. The door met the hinge stop and flexed enough for the edge of the door panel to contact a bolt on the A-pillar door hinge assembly, causing a small crease in the aluminum door panel. My concern is that in 30 years of driving, I have had a door caught be wind before but never had damage to the vehicle. This was not a strong wind, just enough to catch the door. The A-pillar is now flexed slightly such that the door panel gap is larger and seems related to the actual A-pillar flex, not a hinge failure. Vehicle testing of the 22 Ford Expedition has show some poor performance in the A-pillar area and I am concerned that this door issue is due to poor engineering and strength of the A-pillar. I have had the vehicle inspected at the Ford dealership and a customer service complain with Ford is in process. I do not feel this issue can be attributed to user error or considered "accidental" but is due to structural/safety deficiency of the A-pillar structure. Cup Holder Suffocation Hazard (June 2025) • My daughter easily removes the silicone cup holders. • On one occasion, she placed one over her mouth and nose, creating suction and restricting her breathing. • I have since removed the cup holders entirely, though this alters the seat’s intended use. • This presents a clear suffocation hazard. 4.) Excessive Rattling When Not in Use (Ongoing) • When installed rear-facing and unoccupied, the seat rattles loudly during travel. • The noise is so disruptive I have rotated the seat forward-facing at times to reduce it. • While less severe than the other hazards, this reflects poor product integrity and contributes to ongoing safety concerns. "Since purchase in 2022, the vehicle has experienced repeated failures of multiple safety systems. These include frequent warnings that “Pre-Collision Assist is Not Available,” repeated failures of Blind Spot Detection with Cross Traffic Alert, Tire Pressure Monitoring warnings, and messages to “Check 12-Volt Battery.” These system malfunctions occur intermittently and unpredictably, creating unsafe driving conditions. In addition to the warning messages, the rear liftgate has failed to latch properly and on at least one occasion opened while the vehicle was in motion. This poses a serious hazard to vehicle occupants and to other drivers on the road. The safety risk is significant because these systems are designed to prevent or mitigate crashes. Their failure leaves the driver without critical safety features, and the trunk latch defect could cause loss of cargo or injury. These problems have been ongoing for years and have not been permanently corrected despite software updates and recall activity. The dealer has acknowledged the symptoms and advised the vehicle was unsafe to drive."
