"The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Wrangler. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V363000 (Steering); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The dealer was contacted several times and informed that the earliest availability for a vehicle inspection was August 4, 2026, and the vehicle could possibly be repaired in September. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and was assisting the contact in locating dealers who had earlier availability and parts available. The contact had not experienced a failure."

"While driving from [XXX] to [XXX], the vehicle experienced two sudden loss-of-propulsion events at highway speed. During the first incident in downtown [XXX], cruise control disengaged, the transmission abruptly downshifted, and the accelerator became largely unresponsive. The vehicle rapidly lost speed in traffic, and another vehicle nearly rear-ended me because I could not maintain speed or accelerate. The engine remained running, but the vehicle appeared to enter reduced-power or limp mode. I pulled over, shut the vehicle off, and restarted it. Normal throttle operation temporarily returned. The check-engine light and “Stop/Start Not Available” warning remained illuminated. After approximately three hours of otherwise normal driving, I activated cruise control again. The same condition immediately returned: cruise disengaged, the transmission downshifted, throttle response was lost, and the vehicle rapidly decelerated. Restarting again restored normal operation. This unexpected loss of propulsion created a serious collision risk because the vehicle abruptly slowed in moving highway traffic without allowing me to accelerate out of danger. The problem appears directly associated with cruise-control activation, although the exact mechanical or electronic cause is unknown. The vehicle has approximately 40,300 miles, was purchased as Jeep Certified Pre-Owned, and had a new OEM battery installed by an authorized Jeep dealership shortly after purchase. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate similar reports involving sudden throttle loss, abrupt downshifting, reduced-power operation, or loss of propulsion at highway speeds. "Subject: Safety Complaint – 2021 Jeep Wrangler 2.0L Fuel Pump Failure (Loss of power while driving.) I am filing this complaint regarding a 2021 Jeep Wrangler equipped with the 2.0L engine due to what I believe is a significant safety issue involving the fuel pump. The fuel pump has failed, making the vehicle unsafe and/or inoperable. A sudden fuel pump failure can cause the engine to lose power or stall without warning, creating a serious safety hazard, especially when driving at highway speeds, in heavy traffic, or while crossing intersections. A loss of engine power in these situations places both the driver and surrounding motorists at risk of a crash. What is equally concerning is that the replacement fuel pump is currently on a national backorder, with my dealership estimating approximately 45 days or longer before the part will be available. This suggests that many owners may be experiencing the same problem and that replacement parts cannot keep up with demand. As a result, my vehicle is unusable while I wait for a critical safety-related component. This creates a significant financial and personal hardship, including transportation difficulties, missed work, and additional expenses. A safety-related component should not be unavailable for such an extended period if this issue is affecting numerous vehicles. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate whether fuel pump failures in the 2021 Jeep Wrangler 2.0L represent a widespread safety defect. If a pattern is identified, I urge NHTSA to require Stellantis to issue a recall or other appropriate corrective action to protect vehicle owners and the public. The gauge does not accurately reflect the amount of fuel in the vehicle, which creates a serious safety concern because the vehicle may run out of fuel unexpectedly while being operated on public roads. This defect places me and other drivers at risk, especially if the vehicle stalls in traffic, on a highway, or in an unsafe location. I am requesting that NHTSA review this issue as a potential safety defect."

"I went to start my Wrangler 4XE today and had a "Service Charging System" error. The gas part of the Jeep was running, so I proceeded to drive it. I noticed when I came to a stop, the car would not accelerate, then when it did it was violent and bucking. At a stop light it sounded like it was going to stall so I turned it off and then it would not turn back on at all. I finally got it to turn back on and drove it a little further, at one point I went to accelerate and had the pedal all the way to the floor and it would not advance. I brought it to Auto Zone and had a new 12V battery put in, but it did not fix the issue. After a quick search, it seems like this is a common problem with Jeep 4XE High Voltage Battery systems. Jeep has recalled the battery at least 3 times now and I've taken it for the first two recalls already. It was extremely distressing to try to accelerate and it not move, and could have seriously been a safety issue if I continued to drive the car. I was in another state, Jeep has no 24/7 service to call other than roadside assistance, so I had it towed to Brubaker Jeep in Lancaster PA, but I live in Virginia and had to rent a car to get home."

I brought the vehicle in for a routine tire rotation, at which time I was informed that the front camber was out of specification and that there was uneven wear on the front tires. An alignment was recommended. In addition, the vehicle is experiencing abnormal steering behavior. The steering wheel has a noticeable shake and does not feel normal during operation. This suggests a possible issue with the power steering system or related suspension components. The combination of uneven tire wear, improper camber, and a shaking steering system presents a significant safety risk. These issues may affect vehicle stability, steering control, and tire integrity, increasing the risk of loss of control while driving. I have also recently learned that there is an active recall affecting this vehicle, of which I was not previously notified. The fact that this recall was not communicated raises additional safety concerns, especially given the steering-related symptoms currently present. These conditions were identified during a recent service visit, and the underlying cause has not yet been resolved. I am concerned that this may represent a broader defect involving the steering or suspension system that could impact vehicle safety and that proper recall notification procedures may not have been followed."

"Steering wiring harness supposedly catches fire. They do not have a remedy available. Over a million owners on hold. It's been over thirty days since they relased that information. Mailed out notices on the 9th they say. Have yet to receive it. I live in a towhome, and parking it outside but still near neighbors and the adjacent units. Not safe when driving to work, not safe ever. It's a literal death risk. This is ridiculous and criminal on so many levels. Its has not been inspected as it needs the recall regardless. The recall they can not produce. No warning, no signs. A ticking time bomb putting million of Americans at risk. Needs to be intervention."

The vehicle is intact and available for inspection — it was towed to Waxahatchie Jeep, an authorized Stellantis dealer in Waxahachie, TX, on June 19, 2026 and remains in their custody under repair order [XXX]. 2. The vehicle caught fire while being driven on the highway between Waxahachie and Ennis, Texas, with two occupants returning from a Boy Scout trip, my husband, the driver, and our [XXX] son. The driver was forced to take evasive action, steering off the roadway into a service station to get the occupants clear and stop the fire from spreading further. This created a serious risk of burns, of a collision during the evasive maneuver, and of harm to the occupants and other motorists. 3. Has the problem been reproduced…? No. No diagnostic has been performed. The vehicle has been in the authorized dealer’s custody since June 19, 2026 ([XXX]), but the manufacturer has not completed an inspection or diagnostic. The underlying defect is the subject of an active recall (21D / 26V363000) affecting more than one million 2021–2025 Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator vehicles, for which the manufacturer has stated no remedy is yet available. 4. The vehicle was towed by AAA to Waxahatchie Jeep on June 19, 2026 and has remained there since. It has not yet been formally inspected or diagnosed by the manufacturer. 5. There were no warning lamps or messages prior to the fire. The first indication of a problem was smoke from the engine area at which point the driver immediately pulled off the road and saw a plume of smoke coming from the exhaust. The contact also stated that the vehicle felt sluggish prior to the stalling condition. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where a new battery assembly was scheduled to be installed as part of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V741000 (electrical system) however, the remedy battery was not installed, and no explanation was provided by the dealership. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 71,000."

"The wiring to the power steering caused several lights to come on in the vehicle and the Jeep stopped running in the middle of the road. My jeep only runs when the wire for the power steering is unhooked leaving me with no power steering. Wire is also HOT. I'm trying to get the KNOWN recall completed at a dealership so I'm not without my vehicle. It has already been 2 weeks trying to figure out the problem. Jeep does not want to authorize the repair because there is no known fix for the recall yet and they have not issued instructions to the dealership. This is unfair that I should pay for this repair or diagnostic when there is a know problem the dealership should be capable of accessing. I need my vehicle fixed ASAP."

"When accelerating the vehicle will not go or it will start to move then essentially stop, seconds later it starts moving. There is a delay and it’s extremely dangerous when there is oncoming traffic and/or the drivers behind you don’t realize what is happening. My jeep is a 4xe and this does happen frequently since the last “fix” for the recalls"

"COMPONENT/SYSTEM THAT FAILED — AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION: The electrical system failed at the under-hood fuse box / power distribution center (the component sometimes referred to as the TIPM), located near the battery. The vehicle started roughly, shut off within about 3 seconds, would not stay running, and emitted a plastic/electrical burning smell from that area. The vehicle is currently at Oxendale Jeep in Cottonwood, AZ and is available for inspection upon request. A photo of the damage from service advisor Jason Smith and a dealer pre-service inspection document are also available. HOW SAFETY WAS PUT AT RISK: The vehicle would not run and stranded me in an unfamiliar parking lot in Jerome, AZ. The electrical burning smell created a fire risk. A responding firefighter, a police officer, and online guidance all advised not to restart the vehicle due to the danger of fire. REPRODUCED/CONFIRMED BY DEALER: Not fully. Oxendale's pre-service inspection states they could not perform actual diagnostics due to the mechanical damage and burnt components. The dealer documented the damage but has not reproduced or confirmed a root cause. INSPECTED BY MANUFACTURER, POLICE, INSURANCE, OR OTHERS: A local firefighter and a local police officer observed the burning smell at the scene. The jeep dealership service advisor inspected and documented the damage. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer or an insurance representative. WARNING LAMPS/MESSAGES/SYMPTOMS BEFORE FAILURE: No prior warning lamps or messages before the incident. Symptoms first appeared at the time of failure on Friday, [XXX]: a rough start, immediate shut-off, and an electrical/plastic burning smell. Dash lights and electrical power stayed on with info on dash don’t remember wording, but the vehicle would not remain running. "Death wobble almost caused me to go head on with a semi at 57mph.. it doesn’t matter the speed either . I’ve had it to two different dealerships they replace the steering stabilizer that made it worse . They tell me it doesn’t do it when they have it .It’s been aligned 4 times replaced tires and it’s getting worse. Something needs to be done I know several people with this issue. And I know there was a recall on other years for this problem"

"I took my car to the dealership to complete the 04b recall. When I got my car back from this recall: 1. The car says driving in electric mode but it uses gas. 2. When going on a small hill(example: bridge on turnpike over griffon road) will all of a sudden hesitates and will not get any more power. 4. Multiple times when getting off the turnpike the car slowed to 20mph and would not go any faster for about 15 seconds.. all this while in electric mode.. even more dangerous... I took the jeep back to the dealership, they have had the car for 6 weeks and acknowledge the problems..but Stellantis keeps saying this is normal.. not normal, did not happen before the recall."

"Instrument cluster failure. I completed a short trip wherein it was working fine. Went back out several hours later to return home at midnight. The instrument cluster had no power and did not function. I am currently driving with no speedometer, no tachometer, no fuel gauge. I am flying blind because of a known defect in Jeep instrument clusters (NHTSA report 24V652000) between 2020-and 2024. Recall 30b was used to narrowly target other jeeps...but mine somehow does not qualify meaning it is my problem...though it is a well enough known issue that they have a recall on other instrument clusters just failing. As we know from Fight Club they have no intent to do recalls on anything other than the least cost to themselves: “Wherever I'm going, I'll be there to apply the formula. I'll keep the secret intact. It's simple arithmetic. It's a story problem. If a new car built by my company leaves Chicago traveling west at 60 miles per hour, and the rear differential locks up, and the car crashes and burns with everyone trapped inside, does my company initiate a recall? You take the population of vehicles in the field (A) and multiple it by the probable rate of failure (B), then multiply the result by the average cost of an out-of-court settlement (C). A times B times C equals X. This is what it will cost if we don't initiate a recall. If X is greater than the cost of a recall, we recall the cars and no one gets hurt. "The contact owns a 2021 JEEP Wrangler. The contact stated that while opening the vehicle's rear swing gate, they noticed that the rear windshield defroster grid was completely burnt and melted, with a scorched power wire leading directly to the glass terminal. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: (24V111000 (VISIBILITY) however, the VIN was not included in the recall repair. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed to have a failure on the defroster. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 57,140."

"Vehicle received federal recall 01A service (high pressure fuel pump replacement) at an authorized Chrysler/Jeep dealership on 05/14/2026 at 97,055 miles. I drove the vehicle normally for approximately two weeks (roughly 950 miles), then parked it in my garage awaiting a separate warranty part for the intake manifold. On 07/03/2026, during that warranty repair at the same dealership at approximately 98,000 miles, the dealership’s own technician discovered a diesel fuel leak at the fuel injector supply tube. This line must be disturbed to access and replace the high pressure fuel pump during the recall procedure and is a single-use component. No fuel leak or fuel system issue existed or was documented before the recall service; the vehicle was scanned at the same dealership at intake and the only issue found was an intake manifold valve actuation code unrelated to the fuel system. The leak was confirmed by the dealership and the component is available for inspection; I have requested the removed part be returned to me. Safety risk: the vehicle was driven on public roads for roughly 950 miles while, unknown to me, a fuel line disturbed during recall service was developing a leak. Pressurized diesel leaking in the engine compartment is a fire and roadway hazard. The dealership is charging me for the part and labor rather than covering it under the recall remedy, which provides for replacement of additional fuel system components as necessary free of charge. My concern is an improperly performed or incomplete recall remedy resulting in a fuel leak."

"Paint bubbling and aluminum body panel corrosion on hood and front doors of my 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (VIN [XXX] ), currently at 63,000 miles. This is a well-documented manufacturing defect affecting 2018-2021 JL Wrangler and 2020-2021 JT Gladiator vehicles with aluminum body panels. Stellantis has issued multiple Technical Service Bulletins addressing this exact condition: TSB 31-001-18 (March 2018), TSB 31-001-19 (July 2019), TSB 31-002-20 (October 2020), TSB 31-002-22 (December 2022), and most recently TSB 31-001-26 Revision A (February 2026), all titled "Aluminum Body Panel Corrosion Repair." The corrosion presents as paint bubbling along the leading edge of the hood and on the door panels. Filiform corrosion develops under the paint over many months before becoming visible. My corrosion warranty expired in January 2026, just one month before the latest TSB was issued. I am reporting this defect for federal documentation. The manufacturer has been aware of this defect for over 8 years (since 2018) and continues to issue revised TSBs rather than implementing a recall. A class action lawsuit ([XXX] et al. v. Notified Nexen and they were very rude. I told them they were take offs and they responded that they were technically used. I said they were taken off a brand new Jeep and were stored inside. They were only off the vehicle for about a month. Seller said he has not seen the issue with these tires and stores them in accordance to manufacturers recommendation. I explained to Nexen, “who cares if you call them used, they are less than 2.5 years old and are coming apart. That should be concerning.” I saved 2 of them for evaluation. They do not care."

"The primary component involved is the high-voltage charging system, specifically the charging port and connector interface. The vehicle previously experienced a confirmed failure involving a scorched charging port and a melted pin, which required replacement. The same symptoms have since returned, including heat at the charging interface and a burning odor. The vehicle is currently located at an authorized dealership and is available for inspection upon request. This condition presents a safety risk due to the potential for electrical overheating and possible fire hazard. In addition, the vehicle has experienced repeated loss of power while driving, which creates a risk in traffic conditions and could impact driver control and safety. The issue has been previously confirmed by the dealership, which replaced the charging port due to thermal damage. However, upon recurrence of similar symptoms, the dealership has refused to diagnose or service the vehicle, preventing further confirmation at this time. The vehicle has been inspected by an authorized dealership on multiple occasions for related issues, including the prior charging system failure. The manufacturer has not directly inspected the vehicle but has been contacted for assistance. Prior to the charging system failure, symptoms included heat at the charging connector and a burning odor. The vehicle has also exhibited electrical system irregularities and repeated loss of power while driving beginning after recall-related service in or around August 2024."

"What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? -After the 68C recall update for the HV battery failures, the vehicle has not been able to consistently maintain or provide power due to the limitation of the battery introduced as part of the recall. This is most noticeable driving in Electric Mode below 60% charge. The throttle behavior is inconsistent and unpredictable due to the recent updated How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? -I was merging onto a controlled access highway and unable to accelerate after pulling into the travel lane from the merging lane due to the limitations of the battery power. The engine did not respond in time to provide power to the vehicle. The occurrence of the loss of power is unpredictable. Some times the electric battery and motor can provide the necessary power, and in others it does not respond to the throttle demand at the same state of charge with no indication of the issue. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? -It has not yet Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? -It has not Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? -No warning lamps were provided"

"A recall repair was completed in 2023 related to an overheating warning. Recently, the same issue has returned. The engine cooling fan runs at a very high speed for several minutes and then shuts off, even when the vehicle is cold or operating under normal conditions. An overheating warning message appeared briefly while driving, but the temperature gauge remained within the normal range. This suggests the engine may not actually be overheating and that the issue may be related to a faulty sensor, electrical system, or control module. The problem has not yet been fully diagnosed by a dealer due to diagnostic costs, but the symptoms are consistent with the original issue that led to the recall repair. This condition could pose a safety risk because the driver may receive inaccurate overheating warnings or may not be alerted if a real overheating condition occurs. The issue is intermittent and has occurred both while driving and when the vehicle is stationary. Attempts were made to contact the manufacturer to report this as a repeat issue after a recall repair, but no resolution was provided and a formal case was not successfully established."

"While driving on roads I would characterize as good, Our 2021 Jeep Wrangle has exhibited what is widely know as the "death wobble". 1st time was when vehicle has approximately 10,000 miles and it was noted as being severe, dangerous and very scary. 2nd and 3rd time time and with the same road conditions, it occurred. Mileage was 20,000 and 21,000. On March 13th, and with 23,702 miles, we serviced the vehicle to address a known issue with water pump coolant leak and I explained the front wheel steering "wobble issue". They reviewed, test drove and found no issues with it. 3 miles after picking up vehicle, and at approximate 50 MPH, the unit went into a major wobble condition. I immediately returned to the dealership. Technician recommended steering stabilizer and I was told 9/10 times this fixes the "shake". Service team also explained this is a fairly widespread concern with Jeep Wrangler. I consider this a major risk to me, my family and other drivers around me/vehicle. Only my wife and I have experienced the condition. Dealer was unable to duplicate. No other warning lights or fail conditions are available. "Vehicle stalled out. Then would not start. Daughter was stuck for 30 minutes until it finally turned over took it into dealership. Was told it’s the fuel pump. My issue is that now. These fuel pumps are back ordered indefinitely found out because all of the fuel pumps are going bad on the jeeps. Now we have a faulty part that the dealership is aware of that you cannot get replaced due to so many of them needing to be replaced, which tells me they know this part is faulty was told they’re not even sure if or when they would be able to get the part now you have all these people driving jeeps that can stall out on the road and get into a terrible accident. My daughter is [XXX] and this is not acceptable. She has a faulty car part and Jeep has no parts to replace this faulty part. "My vehicle is experiencing EV system failures, stalling, and system shutdown warnings that make the vehicle unsafe to operate. These symptoms began after a recall repair that was performed by the dealership. The dealership initially stated the recall was repaired, but the same symptoms have continued and have now worsened. The vehicle will display EV system warnings and will stall or shut down systems while driving. The air conditioning and other systems also shut down as the vehicle attempts to protect the electrical system. I have brought the vehicle back to the dealership multiple times regarding this issue. Despite the vehicle showing the same symptoms associated with the recall, I am now being told I may have to pay for additional teardown work unrelated to the EV system. This vehicle has become unsafe to drive, and I have requested assistance and escalation from dealership management but have not received a resolution. I am filing this complaint due to the safety risk posed by the vehicle stalling and shutting down systems while in operation."

"This is a plug in hybrid vehicle. The (ECH) electric coolant heater is prone to failure. This failure can lead to loss of power and might cause the hybrid battery pack to not regulate its temperature leading to a fire. This is a high failure rate with some saying it has failed more than once. Jeep 4xe Fans on Facebook has been doing some tracking of numbers and shows a 50% failure rate with some failing after being replaced. This failure is not being addressed by Jeep."

"The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving approximately 55 MPH, the vehicle drove over a bump in the road, and the vehicle started to wobble and shake violently. The contact slowed down and stopped the vehicle. The contact stated there was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed, and determined that the steering dampener needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated had experienced the failure several years prior. The vehicle was repaired under warranty; however, the vehicle was no longer under warranty. "Safety Concern – Steering Instability / Death Wobble – 2021 Jeep Wrangler Sahara To Whom It May Concern, I own a 2021 Jeep Wrangler Sahara with approximately 30,000 miles. I am writing to formally document and request a resolution for a recurring and severe steering instability commonly referred to as “death wobble.” The vehicle experiences violent front-end oscillation after encountering normal road conditions (e.g., highway speeds and minor road irregularities). This condition poses a significant safety risk to me, passengers, and other drivers. This issue has been widely documented in Jeep Wrangler models and addressed in various Technical Service Bulletins concerning steering dampers, ball joints, track bars, and front suspension components. Given the known history of this condition in Jeep vehicles, I am requesting: A full diagnostic inspection of all steering and suspension components. Confirmation of any applicable Technical Service Bulletins. Repair or replacement of defective components at no cost. Written documentation of findings and repairs. This vehicle has been properly maintained and has low mileage for its model year. A violent steering oscillation at highway speed is not normal wear and tear — it is a safety defect. If this issue cannot be resolved under warranty or goodwill assistance, I will pursue escalation through Stellantis Customer Care, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), and applicable consumer protection or lemon law provisions.
