"The car detects phantom blind spot alerts even after the camera update. It happens based on front and rear cameras. When the car falsely alerts it fully locks up the breaks and steering until the fault clears. It happened yesterday trying to pull out of a street side parking space. There were no oncoming cars, but the car fully alerted and locked up. It happened in rush hour traffic when trying to pull to the side for an emergency vehicle alerting and causing the car to fully lock up and delay moving aside for an emergency vehicle, and it happened trying to pull into a parking lot in a line of other vehicles also pulling into the lot (school pickup line). Every time it does this it fully alerts and locks up brakes and steering. There's no predicting when it will happen."

"I was driving on Hwy 41 in Lutz, Fl in middle lane (out of 3 lanes) at around 50 miles per hour, then suddenly a warning came up on my infotainment consule that noted that my driver assistance system was not functional. My car then slowed down to 20 mph and would not accelerate. The line of cars going fast behind me started to honk at me. I had to put on my hazards and slowly get into far right lane and eventually pull over. I then came to a stop and turned my engine off. I was able to get back on US Hwy 41 and the error did not happen again and I was able to get to work (albeit, 5 minutes late)"

"I have had this occur in my Hyundai and a 2026 Santa Fe lower trim model that is not hybrid. The forward attention monitor repeats that I am not looking at the road. I have a condition where my eyes have been filling with tears. I am usually able to stop it by moving my head or looking down at the camera. (which takes my eyes off the road) Many times it enters into advanced warning and twice the car started to come to a stop in lane on the interstate highway. I feel this newer attention system is too sensitive. I did not have this issue with my 2022 Hyundai Tucson. I feel the sudden braking on the interstate will lead to an accident. It happens less frequently if I turn off the cruise control, lane departure warning and lane keeping assist. I have had the vehicle at the dealer twice for recalls. I asked them to check the forward attention system and they report it is working fine. The fact that it happened in a second Hyundai and a different model leads me to think it is not just my car."

"While i was driving 65 MPH on the highway with several car length ahead of me I gently tried slowing down and the car jammed on the brakes forcefully causing my husband and I to be jolted forward and seatbelts locked. Thankfully, the person behind me did not hit me. This is a recall that was supposedly fixed by Hyundai dealer on 7/6/2026 a front view camera update however this incident happened on July 17, 2026. I brought to Circle Hyundai ,Shrewsbury on July 27 and they said codes are fine and could not replicate the issue."

"Two days after buying the car while on a trip to [XXX], while driving 70 miles per hour on an interstate using cruise control, the car quickly breaked and our speed went down to about 40. Scared us to death. We pulled off the side of the road to regroup and understand what just happened. We didn't understand and continued and stopped using cruise. We found a Hyundai dealer in [XXX] and went to ask them if they could help. It was a salesman who first quizzed us about where we brought the car, why we didn't buy from them, and pointed to the cruise control button and told us to take it back to the dealer We purchased it from. We just went on our way. Since that time, this car has braked suddendly, on it's own at least 12 or 14 times. It doesn't just brake, it stops. We have almost been hit numerous times, the seat belt has kept me from hitting the steering wheel, dash or windshield several times during this sudden breaking. I took the car in fir the recall that was supposed to fix this problem. It has not. Twice last week it decided to brake twice, once putting us in a serious position on the roadway while making a left turn. I took it back today and explained the situation. After they had it a couple of hours, they told me nothing was wrong with it. I am afraid to drive it and I know what is happening on an irregular basis. "My vehicle is subject to the Hyundai Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) safety recall (NHTSA Campaign 26V316 / Hyundai Recall 302). The front camera software logic is overly sensitive, creating an imminent danger of unexpected, severe, and sudden automatic braking at high speeds. This manufacturing defect poses a catastrophic safety hazard to myself, my family, and other motorists on the highway. I consider the vehicle completely unroadworthy and unsafe to drive. Despite the severe risk to human life, Hyundai Motor Finance is refusing to allow a fee-waived early lease termination, attempting to financially penalize me for refusing to drive an inherently dangerous vehicle that they manufactured. I am filing this complaint to document the severe hazard of the defect and Hyundai's failure to provide a safe, penalty-free resolution for a life-threatening vehicle glitch"

"On June 30, 2026, at approximately 8:45 AM, I was driving my 2025 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid on the freeway with cruise control set at 74 mph. While driving, the vehicle displayed a message that cruise control had been disabled. As the vehicle began slowing down, I pressed the accelerator pedal, but the gas pedal did not respond. I had to carefully move over to the right as the vehicle continued slowing, then pull over to the side of the road. Fortunately, there was a safe place available for me to pull over. After stopping, I turned off the engine, waited approximately one minute, then restarted the vehicle. After restarting, the vehicle operated normally again. I contacted Hyundai. They stated there was no specific update for this exact issue, but they did advise that there was an update for the steering cluster. I have completed that update."

Everything, I couldn't see my speed, if cruise control was on, the HUD display everything went dark then came back on in about 10-15 seconds. This was very concerning. I had no way to know if the safety systems like adaptive cruise control, forward crash section etc were still working. "While vehicle was at dealership service department for an oil change, dealer performed FCA (Forward Camera Assist) Update recall. After leaving dealership, the vehicle displayed several warnings. "Check Emergency Stopping function", "Smart Cruise Control disabled", and "Forward Safety system limited". This never happened previously, and these safety systems became disabled within two miles after leaving the dealership where the update / recall to them was performed. The recall was intended to prevent unnecessary emergency braking. Somehow the update resulted in completely disabling that safety system. Invoice from dealership shows 17012 miles out, and photos of dashboard show 17014 miles. Return appointment for them to look at this is three weeks out. Contacted Hyundai customer service to report this."

"We are getting intermittent failures with screen going dark and/or warning lights flashing. This has happened on multiple occasions with the car while driving. We first brought into Preston Hyundai in Millsboro DE June 27 for this problem. There were some standard recalls (unrelated) but they hoped those recalls would fix the problem. They did not. We brought it back July 19 and remained in the shop until July 23. Spoke with Service Mgr Brad Atkins multiple times. He could not replicate, but has other customers with same concern and engaged Hyundai Field Services on this. They are still trying to figure this out and we took car back as they don't have loaner yet. They are hopeful to give us a loaner next week. So we have had two attempts to resolve unsuccessfly to date."

"Vehicle: 2025 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid | Purchase Date: 10/2025 | Mileage: ~2,800 | FAILURES: On 5/11/2026, the AEB warning light (FCA system) activated without cause while parked. On 5/13/2026, the left side instrument cluster went completely dark and was unresponsive. Multiple reboots failed to restore it. Infotainment (right side) rebooted; instrument cluster did not. Vehicle brought to Hyundai of Las Vegas on 5/15/2026. RECALL CONNECTION: This is consistent with Recall 26V047000 (Hyundai #293), issued 1/26/2026, for 2025 Tucson instrument panel failure violating FMVSS No. 101. My VIN is not in the database. I request VIN inclusion review as my experience is identical. The OTA/dealer software update was never applied prior to this failure. SAFETY RISK: Loss of instrument cluster eliminated ability to monitor speed, fuel, and warnings while driving. Unprompted AEB activation raises concern about FCA reliability — risks unexpected braking to cause potential crash or failure to engage. Consistent with FCA recall issued 5/16/2026 for my vehicle. DEALER: Hyundai of Las Vegas confirmed and repaired under warranty, described to me only as a hard reset. Diagnostic was not indicated on my report. Service advised me that recurrence is likely. Note: FCA recall issued 5/16/2026 was not addressed during this visit. Second appointment required. NHTSA: 26V047000 | Hyundai Recall: #293 | Case: 42767545"

"I own a 2025 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid Limited AWD with approximately 15,000 miles. While driving, I heard a loud, sudden noise and then discovered that the glass panel above the windshield, below the moonroof, had shattered/damaged. The incident occurred at a slight bump in the road, but not a pothole. I did not observe any large road debris, object, or vehicle ahead of me that appeared to cause an impact, and I saw no obvious evidence of a specific impact event. The damaged area allows water to enter the vehicle, making it unsafe and impractical to drive in rain or other inclement weather. There is also concern about loose glass debris. The dealership and Hyundai denied warranty coverage, stating the damage was impact-related. An independent automotive glass shop inspected the vehicle and provided a written assessment stating that the damage cannot be conclusively attributed to a rock or other road impact and could be consistent with a manufacturing defect. The vehicle has been inspected by both the dealer/manufacturer and an independent glass service provider. Hyundai corporate has also been contacted, and a corporate case manager was involved. There were no warning lamps or warning messages before the failure. The first symptom was the sudden loud noise while driving, followed by discovery of the damage to the glass panel above the windshield."

"I was going northbound on highway 77 in Bloomington, MN, switching lanes to get on an exit ramp to westbound 494. Another vehicle in front of me was also changing lanes but I had slowed down so we can switch lanes appropriately as we were both going at decent speeds and as I was braking and this car ahead of me crossed lanes, my forward collision warning activated and emergency braking occurred which inappropriately activated and caused me to abruptly stop while driving on an exit ramp on a freeway. Luckily the car behind me did not hit me but it was terrifying and scary and I had my two young children in the car. I have set up plans for updating the software for this vehicle with the current recall."

"On 4/3/2026 heading to [XXX] on I 95 (outside of [XXX] ) traveling with traffic (3-4 lanes) I was in the middle lane going approx 74mph when on 5 separate but in close approximation (estimated within 20 mi) times, my car which was on cruise control, suddenly threw up warnings to pull over, shook my steering wheel, yanked my car toward the left lane (with traffic flowing the same way as I was) and suddenly decreased my speed to 64 mph before I could regain control! It was a beautiful, sunny day with no precipitation. Cars were swerving and beeping . My family was in the car. I stopped all cruise control and drove the remaining five hours to my destination scared out of my mind. I called local dealership, country club Chevy, dodge, jeep, Hyundai etc. at 607432-9300 and told Gavin what had occurred. I was unable to get into a dealership while I was in [XXX] for the brief time I was there. On my way home I tried cruise control on I 95 in the right hand lane all the way over so that no traffic could be on my right side. It was a beautiful day. It happened again to me, the warning lights, the decrease and speed the yank to the right the shaking steering wheel and the sudden breaking while I was in the state of [XXX] . I turned off cruise control again. I didn’t have a problem after that. When I I returned home, , I took the car in to be looked at at the dealership . They said they couldn’t find anything wrong. I contacted Hyundai motor corp at 800-523-4030. Case number 42576997 was assigned. I was put to Hyundai finance. No resolution. I contacted Hyundai Corp Office at 714-410-4382 and spoke with Mohammed. To date, as of May 7 there has been no resolution as the dealership doesn’t have access to drive this car on a 4 Lane Rd. as we live in a real area. I do not feel safe driving this car. "The rearview camera system on my vehicle intermittently and unpredictably malfunctions when shifted into reverse. Instead of displaying the live rear camera feed, the infotainment screen abruptly turns entirely green or blue, completely obscuring the rearward view. Component that failed: The rearview camera system and/or the main infotainment display module. The components are currently on the vehicle and available for inspection upon request. Safety risk: This failure severely compromises safety by eliminating critical rear visibility while backing up. The sudden loss of the camera feed creates a significant blind spot, increasing the risk of backing into a pedestrian, a moving object, or another vehicle, especially in busy parking lots or residential driveways. Dealer confirmation: Yes, this is a persistent defect that has been reproduced, confirmed, and documented by an authorized dealership service center during multiple service visits. Despite the dealer and the manufacturer being informed of this defect over two months ago, neither has been able to successfully repair the vehicle or provide a permanent fix. Inspected by others: The vehicle and the malfunctioning components have been inspected by the manufacturer’s authorized dealer technicians during multiple attempts to diagnose and repair the ongoing issue. Warning lamps/symptoms: There are no warning lamps, check engine lights, or error messages on the dashboard prior to or during the failure. The sole symptom is the immediate and spontaneous green or blue screen takeover on the center display precisely when the vehicle engages the reverse gear."

"I have a eye condition called Strabismus/ lazy eye that I've had for most of my life. I've learned to live with it quite well. According to the American Academy of Ophthalmology, roughly 4% of the U.S. adult population has Strabismus.. My previous vehicle (Genesis G70) had the Lane Keep feature that I used all the time. Now when I drive my new 2025 Hyundai Tucson Hybred on the highway with cruise control, I can't use "Lane Keep Assist" (on the steering wheel) because within a few seconds it will give WARNING-EYES ON THE ROAD, BOTH HANDS ON THE WHEEL then go into emergency stop while I am staring straight ahead and have both hands on the wheel. - - Also, if I am driving on a Interstate highway, the Lane Keep Assist comes on automatically as soon as I engage Cruise control, I have to turn off Lane Keep or within a few seconds, the emergency shutdown begins. I have to turn it off every time I re-engage Cruise control. The first time this happened I was driving in heavy traffic on I-20 outside of [XXX]. I had to maneuver thru 2 lanes of traffic before the vehicle completely stopped. I continued on without cruise control until I arrived home. After several tests it was decided that it was my eyes. I had the Hyundai service investigate but had no fix for the issue. The Lane Keep feature was always on in my 2019 Genesis G70 which was a nice feature and now with my new Tucson, I can't use it. I'm going backward with my safety features on vehicles. There must be some way to modify this to accommodate my condition and get back to the level of vehicle safety that I once had without trading down to a older vehicle. - - Hyundai case file XXX. "On [XXX], my 2025 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid displayed a red dashboard alert instructing me to “stop vehicle and check brake system.” The vehicle experienced brake system warnings and a loss of power steering, requiring me to pull over. I immediately contacted Hyundai through the Bluelink system, and the Bluelink operator confirmed that multiple fault codes were visible in Hyundai’s system. I scheduled a Hyundai service appointment at the next available date. On [XXX], before the scheduled service appointment could occur, the vehicle experienced a sudden and total electrical failure while traveling at highway speed (approximately 65 mph). The vehicle lost propulsion and displayed brake system warnings. After reaching the shoulder, the vehicle also lost hazard lights while disabled in heavy rain. The vehicle was towed via Hyundai Bluelink to a Hyundai dealership and removed from service. The occupants at the time of the incident included my wife and my minor child. The loss of propulsion, braking warnings, power steering, and hazard lights created a serious risk of a rear-end collision and injury. Due to repeated and escalating safety-related failures involving electrical, braking, and steering systems, I no longer consider the vehicle safe to operate. "The Forward Attention Monitor (or Driver Attention Monitor/Warning...or something similarly named) that monitors the driver's eyes to insure he/she is looking forward at all times) is overly sensitive and shuts off the adaptive cruise control and lane keeping systems. While it does this, there is a beeping, and a text display on the dash that requires reading, it is probably a sentence long, further distracting the driver from looking at the road....This potentially would cause a following vehicle, or a vehicle in an adjacent lane to make a defensive maneuver, or to have to brake abruptly, as one example...basically NOT SAFE) Adjusting the steering column to a safe driving position for me (the eye sensor is located on top of the steering column) also caused this system to turn off the cruise control and lane keeping systems constantly, causing me to have to raise it to an uncomfortable driving position. Also, related to this, the HVAC controls have very dim indicator lights to let the the driver know the fan speed or status of the A/C, making it very hard for the driver to see it and make quick changes before the STUPID eye sensor (Forward Attention Monitor or Driver Attention Monitor) cuts off the other safety features. I wear NON polarized sunglasses to be able drive safely in the very bright Arizona sun, and to see the HUD which is impossible to read if wearing polarized sunglasses. I have worn sunglasses while driving for over 50 years. This 2025 Hyundai Tucson Limited Hybrid is the first car that has this very overly sensitive driver attention warning system and IF it is not adjusted quickly will cause me to sell this otherwise excellent vehicle at a great financial loss. My hope is that it can be adjusted with a software update or physical parts update, before this causes an very unfortunate vehicle accident. It makes driving this vehicle extremely unsafe. I have asked the dealer more than once about this and they say there is no current fix. thank yo"

"The forward collision system suddenly slammed the brakes hard to a full stop. This has happened multiple times in situations where there was no real danger(still safe distance with the car in front). I was fully in control, and there were no obstacles or sudden movements from other vehicles. Both times there was a car right behind me, and I was just lucky they didn’t hit me because they swerved into the shoulder. After the first 2 times, I mentioned it to the dealership and asked if there was any way to turn down the sensitivity so it didn't cause an accident and he said it's either all or nothing (which also isn't safe in case of real emergency). He recommended I file a complaint. I should also mention that I owned the 2022 Hyundai Tucson prior to this car for 4 years and never once had this occur. I did have it activate the front collision warning, but it never came to a full stop and allowed the driver to make the correct decision for the situation."

"My 2025 Tucson hybrid violently stopped in mid traffic while leaving the intersection once the signal turned green to proceed. I accelerated getting to speed limit then it abruptly stopped, violently throwing contents from back seat to the forward cabin. Both, myself the driver and my passenger were jolted violently. The school bus behind me had to stop quickly as we were just getting up to speed from a stop light. The vehicle is brand new, 2024 miles on it. Tucson Nline Hybrid with all the safety features turned on. I called the dealer and service rep which both instructed to turn off the FCS Forward Collision System setting. I did but this shouldn't be happening and will cause bodily harm/damage, and possible death is a specific situation. This abrupt stop was jarring to both people in the car."

"My new Hyundai Tucson has less than 5K miles on it and while driving on a fairly empty road the panoramic sunroof exploded for no reason (as we know nothing hit it). Fortunately the screen was closed at the time, but had it been open then glass shards could have entered the car. I often have my grandchildren in car seats with the screen open and this could have caused serious eye damage to them. Hyundai and other manufacturers know this is a common problem but refuse to do anything about it. The local dealer will not cover the repair even though the car is under warranty. When the roof explodes it sounds like a gunshot and we swerved, but fortunately no cars were near us at the time. I can see where this can easily cause accidents."

"I purchased a brand new vehicle with only 12 miles on it. Less than 72 hours later I had to have it towed. I turned the vehicle on and tried to put it in drive and 2 error messages came up. One was the check hyrid system and the other was a check engine. The diagostic tool on the car says it is related to transmission. The dealership doesnt have time to look into it yet and the Manager from the dealership I bought it from offered no solutions since I travelled home to another state."

"My vehicle was purchased new and has less than 5100 miles on it. The screen and heads-up display randomly begin to glitch and then simply go dark. I can't see my speed, fuel or charge levels or any important data while driving. This has happened multiple times already. My vehicle is a 2025 model. Interestingly, Hyundai had the same type issue on 2024 models and issued a TSB to resolve this issue, but have not issued any repair for the 2025 models. This is a major safety issue."

"The rear hatch was open as I had loaded packages in it. My husband & I were both at the rear of the car. I was on the passenger side but told my husband I was going to drive home and began crossing over to the driver side. He pushed the button to close the hatch. It came down and hit me in the head. It lacerated my head and really hurt. I had to get 5 staples to close the wound. This is a very concerning safety hazard. As an adult it was painful and required medical attention. I believe it should have detected my presence and stopped. I am concerned what would have happened if this was a child. I believe they would have been seriously injured or killed. I have 3 grandchildren so it is very concerning."

"I have had two incidents with this vehicle (that I have owned for less than 90 days) that have raised safety concerns. Both involved the loss of all information on the "instrument panel" AKA dashboard. In the first (August 18, 2025), all of the warning lights came on, then the screen went dark - there was no information on the two screens and no head's up display. This happened while I was on the highway doing about 65 mph. After I was able to pull over safely, it took several attempts to get the vehicle started again and in gear. I took it to the dealer the next day and they were unable to replicate the issue and saw no codes. The second episode occurred yesterday (9/6/25). This time the screen went dark except for a large red warning "NO SIGNAL". The screen came back after a few moments; I am taking it to the dealer tomorrow. Both of these involved losing all information as to the speed of the vehicle - which I believe is a safety issue. Both of these issues have also been reported by others on Facebook ("Hyundai Owners") since late last year and it appears to be some sort of electrical issue but there has been no TSB or recall by Hyundai yet."

"To be honest, this could have been happening for months and I just didn’t pick up on it. I typically look out the front window and use my heads-up display. I’m very rarely looking at the gauges while I’m driving down the street so this just happens to be when I began to notice it. 9-4-25 near 4 PM Left side screen where gauges are located blackout -it didn’t last long, but it did frighten me and then it did it again and the second time it did like a restart because it came up with the ready to drive message 9-6-25 10:40AM left side of screen black out 9–16–25 7:13 AM. Left side screen where gauges are located blackout a second time at 7:12 PM 9-18/25 4:45 PM left side of screen black out 9-20 -15 10:45 AM left side screen where gauges are located blacked out 11:24 AM all gauges lit up on dashboard I don’t even know all these signs. These are the ones I recognize battery, brake, auto hold, ready, number of caution signs, airbag sign, AFS, ABS EPB (image uploaded showing the car in drive) I turned off the vehicle. The lights remained on restarting the car made no difference. The next day car started normal no access dash lights Took the car to the dealership on Sept. 23, when I made the appointment, they acted like they had never heard of this happening ...however when they called to discuss my car they said they have had several come in with the same issue. They stated they needed to replace a wiring harness, but it is on indefinite backorder according to the service person. I think his name was [XXX] . They were unable to tell me when they will be able to address this concern. I am concerned this sounds very similar to the Toyota's that are being recalled and if both companies need the same part how safe are these cars from Hyundai to drive. "The electronic dashboard and heads up display go blank for as little as a few seconds to over 30 seconds. This happens over and over again. Sometimes in doesn't happen at all but more often than not it does. I have no data when this does this, no idea what speed I'm going at, no data about the blind spot safety controls. Nothing. If it unsafe to drive without knowing what speed you are going and other information. The dealer said they could not reproduce the condition even though there is a Hyundia Technical Service Bulletin out for the same problem on a similar Hyundai and many, similar reports on the Hyundai forum. The dealer said they could do nothing even though I had to drive off in an unsafe vehicle."

"The computerized "Safety" features on this car can not be turned off. They pose a hazard in a number of ways from when the car is stopped to driving on multi-lane highways. For instance, the adaptive cruise control is linked to an over the air network. If that link is "cut" by going through the mountains, cruise control suddenly quits; this has happened while passing a vehicle over a mountain pass. When attempting to pull out from a parking spot, another driver stopped to wait for me because they wanted my parking spot. My car stopped by itself, sounded a loud noise, steering wheel shook, my wife screamed at the noise, and I had to shift out of reverse and shift back into it and attempt to leave the parking spot. When driving in the mountains on curvy mountain roads, my eyes shift around a great deal to keep on top of the road and traffic conditions. This sets off the "its time to take a coffee break" announcement with accompanying dinging. This continues every few minutes until I am out of the mountains - it is distracting at the least. If the adaptive cruise has slowed the car down because of slower traffic ahead, and after a car passes in the outer lane, you pull into that lane to pass the slower car; but when you do, my car accelerates quickly to bring the speed up to the speed set on the cruise control. If the car that just passed is too close, this acceleration sends us hurling toward the other car. I would like the ability to turn these "safety" features OFF. But that is NOT POSSIBLE with the 2025 model - while it was in earlier models. Though I recently purchased this car, I am investigating other cars to replace it almost immediately because I want to be able to drive without these "safety" features making poor decisions and putting my life in danger."
