"Safety Defect – Inadequate Warning and Insufficient Time to Respond to Alternator/Charging System Failure I am submitting this safety complaint regarding a dangerous condition in my 2022 Ford Bronco involving the charging system and alternator protection behavior. While driving, a warning related to the charging system/battery appeared. The message lacked sufficient clarity and urgency. The time from the warning until the 12-volt battery was fully depleted was extremely short—too brief to safely identify a location and pull completely out of traffic. Once the battery died: • The vehicle could not be placed in neutral, preventing it from being moved out of the travel lane. • There was insufficient power to operate the hazard lights. This occurred on a busy highway, leaving the vehicle disabled in traffic and creating a significant safety risk. I was fortunate it happened in daylight. Had it occurred at night without functioning hazard lights, the likelihood of a catastrophic accident would have been high. This aligns with known alternator/charging system issues on 2021-2022 Broncos addressed in Ford Technical Service Bulletin TSB 23-2238 (superseding TSB 22-2392). The contact stated that while his wife was driving 70 MPH uphill, the vehicle lost drive power. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The driver was able to pull over to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the main wiring harness had dislodged, sat across the exhaust, and was burned. The dealer determined that the main wiring harness needed to be replaced, which required the temporary removal of several components. The contact was provided a repair estimate and was advised that the failure was not covered under the recall and that the vehicle was out of warranty. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact obtained a rental vehicle out-of-pocket. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that partial assistance might be provided. The failure mileage was approximately 60,908."

"On 7/19/26, I was driving my 2022 Ford Bronco Wildtrak and attempting to turn left across oncoming traffic. When I pressed the accelerator to complete the turn, the vehicle hesitated and failed to accelerate as expected. An approaching vehicle had to decelerate abruptly and honk to avoid a collision. My Bronco is subject to NHTSA Recall 25V-455/Ford Campaign 25S75 concerning loss of fuel pressure and fuel flow caused by low-pressure fuel-pump failure. "35 miles out of [XXX] on Monday, XXX our Bronco loss fuel flow in the fast lane of [XXX] and stalled while going 70mph we were surrounded by trucks also going 70mph, unexpectedly mid morning. No warning . Almost got rear ended and had to safely drift over to reach the side of the road. Very terrifying with cars going very fast behind us. We attempted to restart the Bronco and it started a few times and sputtered out. I immediately called the closest Ford dealership Gaudin and they dispatched a tow truck. The temperature was very hot and we waited for 1.5 hrs in the desert sun. The dealer provided a rental but I was not allowed to leave NV nor go more than 50 miles, they confirmed that it was a bad fuel pump. I did not receive the car back until Friday 6/19/26. This incident occurred on my first day of VC planned in [XXX]. My whole vacation was ruined, unexpected expenses, and the stress of having to drive with a defective part when it’s fixed is a problem. We have to drive back to LA and I can’t miss work. We took the vehicle to Gaupin in LA to have it serviced before this trip even an oil change on 6/11/26. They assured us that all was well, only 2 recalls showed up- rear camera and a seat adjustment bolt . Why didn’t the dealer tell us about the fuel pump and the dangers. The vin number has a listed “1 un-repaired recall - fuel pump dated 7/2025. Manufacturer #XXX, NHTSA# 25V455. No notice has come through the mail and then it states Recall incomplete in red. If it was known that the fuel pump could fail, how are owners allowed to drive around without a complete recall, and without a fix. The dealer said they are going to announce on Jun 29. Well in our case that’s a little too late. Am I supposed to drive with a defective fuel system??? They replaced the fuel pump with another new pump that will have the same issue, not a fix. On June 19 later that evening after fueling it up, a service engine light came on with exhaust system issues. "While driving on an interstate it was determined that the engine walls over compressed and blew out the sides of the motor of my 2022 Ford Bronco. The Bronco has 67,000 miles on it which shows a clear manufacturer defect. It is available to be inspected as well to confirm. My wife’s and unborn child’s safety was put at risk by losing acceleration and losing control of the vehicle briefly as it began to shake from the engine misfiring. This easily could have caused a serious wreck had more traffic been present at the time. The dealership has not been able to confirm this on other cars. The engine has been inspected by a Ford Dealership. There were no warning lamps or messages prior to the failure and only appeared shortly after the engine over-compressed and began to shake."

I am concerned that the delaminating sections will detach while driving."

The vehicle lost all power and was immediately disabled (LIMP MODE), presenting an imminent highway safety hazard.The Physical Damage: Subsequent mechanical teardown revealed deep vertical cylinder wall scoring, heavy raw fuel residue in the engine oil pan, and a blown head gasket. Relationship to Active Safety Defect: This catastrophic block failure perfectly mirrors the progressive failure profile of NHTSA Campaign 25V455 / Ford Safety Recall 25S75 (Low-Pressure Fuel Pump Failure). "There has been an SSM release by Ford (SSM 51415) acknowledging that 2021-2022 Bronco vehicles flat towed in neutral may experience inconsistent or unintended ABS (anti-lock brake) module activation while being towed. "Cracks in left rear of roof theirs a recall ones that painted but not on the matt finish one. My 2022 Ford Bronco 2 door is showing the same problems as the paint ones. And Ford Dealership said they at least a dozen or more around his dealership with the same issue. And online I have been told of 100s. Have the same thing happening to their Broncos the years 2021 to 2024 even ones sit on lots for with the same problems."

"My 2022 Ford Bronco experienced recall 25S75 where fuel pump failed while driving on the freeway outside LA near San Bernardino. Recall was communicated in July of 2025 and no fix available. How long has Ford been building cars? There were no warnings or symptoms prior to failure. This was extremely dangerous for car to stall in the middle of the freeway, not to mention it was 98 degrees outside. I was able to tow my Bronco to a Ford dealership where they confirmed and fixed the recall fuel pump issue."

"On May 7, 2026 while driving approximately 18 mph, my Ford Bronco 2022 Outerbanks experienced a sudden loss of normal braking assist. The brake pedal became stuck in the upright position requiring excessive force to stop the vehicle. When the brake pedal went down the truck rolled to the curb and I put it in park. There was a warning sign on the dash that flashed and went away. I could not see what it was. Luckily there were no bystanders or other cars on the road at the time. I was near an elementary school at the time. This would have caused a crash or worse if there were pedestrians. I turned the truck off and called the tow. At the dealership they diagnosed and confirmed an electronic brake booster (EBB) failure. This EBB failure mirrors a recent recall from Ford affecting 2025 Broncos. The dealership has refused warranty because I am 6 months outside the warranty period even though I only have 29,960 miles. This is not normal wear and tear. The 2025 recall # is 25V488. This EBB recall may also affect previous years such as mine and should be investigated."

The dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer confirmed that the remedy parts were not yet available. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The approximate failure mileage was 35,000."

"Vehicle has Surged and stalled randomly, the Crash alert warning appears on screen and starts to stop the vehicle with nothing in front of it, I have asked my Ford Dealer to remedy the recalls as I have paid over $50,000 for the vehicle and they tell me sorry there are no fixes, I tried to trade it in, and they said they cannot because they have a no sale enforcement on the Bronco and they said if they took it in trade they could not sell it."

"Truck began scrolling warnings that pre-collision braking, hill start assist, forward collision, adaptive cruise control, and more were all not working. Alerts came out of no where while driving on highway and continued every 30 min to hour of drive time. Cruise control was disabled with this failure. Diagnosed with faulty steering-rack. This has been recalled on other 2022 Ford Broncos, but for some reason our was not included in this recall. This lot was clearly impacted as well. The truck is used for daily driving, does not go off-roading and was not involved in any collision or incident that triggered this, simply driving down the highway. Please let Ford know to expand the recall, our car is not safe to drive and is not inoperable unless we pay for the repair or the recall is expanded. Thank you for your assistance!"

"The steering is unsafe, my neighbor works at a ford dealership and said it’s the rack, which I also read online that it’s become a common problem, the steering has become very stiff. To the point where I have had to slam on the breaks at curves in the road just to be able to turn into the bend, which has almost caused two incidents."

"Vehicle brake pedal is very hard to press, unable to push in until the car engine is running. When driving the brake pedal seems it has more pressure and cannot push it to normal level. On the highway it came up brake safety warning when I was in 4Wheel Auto. The pedal stiffness has been checked and confirmed by AutoNation Service. They stated no Warranty or Recall Notice for this issue. The issue is commonly reported by broncos with 2.3L and is determined to be the Brake Booster Vacuum Line. Statements share similar brake pedal stiffness when engine stopped, and engaged stiffness when in 4 wheel mode or Cruise Control, causing driver to put immense pressure on pedal to have the car brake. Before I pay for the parts and long service this clear safety concern should be looked at."

"On April 3rd, 2026 my steering started to intermittently lock up on my 2022 Ford Bronco. I immediately took my vehicle to my local dealership where they were able to recreate the problem. The vehicle was also throwing the code U3000:49-8A for steering gear failure. This issue appears to be consistent with the Ford Safety Recall 23S09. There was no warning prior to the issue. There were no warning indicators once the issue began."

"I was operating the vehicle on the highway and the steering locked up. I had no indication that this was going to happen. It would not turn and almost caused an accident. I was able to break the steering do to my strength. I was able to limp truck to dealer. Upon inspection they confirmed a faulty / locked up steering shaft. This was not covered by ford. The shaft was replaced and functional now. I have made several attempts to communicate with corporate ford about this safety matter and haven’t been heard from. They have had shaft issues with their f150 trucks also. This issue is a direct result from poor manufacturing and is a real safety issue. This should never happen with a vehicle that is only a few years old with not that many miles.I have saved the part for inspection and looking for some assistance. Thanks you."

"Noticed that my hardtop was cracking around the rear windows. This is a know issue with Ford and is being replaced under warranty. Unfortunately, my vehicle is outside of the original 3 year 36,000 mile warranty period by just over 6,000 miles that would qualify for replacement. The dealer quoted over $10,000.00 to replace the entire top since all roof panels appear to be affected. This is almost 1/4 the cost of my vehicle on the used market and is unacceptable for a know issue that would normally be replaced under warranty."

"Differential carrier replacement due to metal contmination being found in differential during oil change and a transmission overhaul due to excessive wear of(clutch container, CDF bushing, forward hub and front support bushings). They also noted a sticking valve in the main control on my 2022 Ford Bronco 2.7L V6 when taken in to dealership to evaluate vehichle under warranty due to ongoing intermittent thump/clunking noise when coming to a stop and accelerating from a stop as well as when backing up from a stop and while driving as well, intermittent loud metal slapping sound at speeds over 60 mph, intermittent jerking of vehichle when cycling through gears, unexpected downshift at high speeds. After differential replacement and transmission overhaul due to excessive wear while under warranty, my vehichle continues to experience the same symptoms and problems and feel this is a safety issue."

Yes, it is available for inspection. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? - The display freezes when putting the vehicle in revers and the initial image on display of what was behind the vehicle stays the same while moving. If something or someone moves behind the vehicle while moving the image does not update to show that something or someone is now behind the vehicle. Previously recall 23S48 was completed related to the issue but it did not resolve the issue. Vehicle was taken back to the dealer and the dealer informed me that it is a faulty APIM and not the backup camera and is therefore not covered by the recall. This is a significant safety issue and needs remedied regardless of what component needs replaced. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? - Yes Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? - Only by the dealer (Midwest Ford in Hutchinson, KS). Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? - No"
